Abstract
Certainly, this is neither a Global nor Nigeria’s dream period! Regrettably, Remarkably, Specifically, the ongoing ASUU strike, Economic downturn, Insecurity among other prevailing challenges in Nigeria are weighty enough to discourage important assembly of this nature and other meaningful engagements. From year 2020 till date, Nigerian University System has lost two full academic years to COVID-19 lockdown and industrial actions by the university staff with negative impact on Nigeria and Nigerians. With this summit (IHS 2022), NiMSA has demonstrated that a very determined people can forge ahead amid the challenges. Notably, we can achieve much in a conducive environment therefore, no effort should be spared to speedily resolve crippling challenges especially the perennial industrial actions in Nigerian universities. Nigeria must resolve permanently the epileptic academic calendar occasioned by the interval strikes leading to undue stagnation and prolongation of years of study across Nigerian public universities causing untoward hardship on the students, their families, and the Nigerian state.
