Abstract
Alajapa is a vocation usually, of able-bodied women who engaged in itinerant trading. The Alajapa set forth before the daybreak on trading trip, usually outside her geographical location, to trade and return later to her base with profit. The Alajapa cash in on comparative advantage of the time and the marketplace to make profit. She trades and makes profit. Probably, japa, is a neologism derived from the Alajapa. Japa is necessarily a slang among the youngsters connoting move, run, escape. For instance, o ti japa, has moved or travelled; ma a japa, I will move or travel. Nowadays, japa is a common word especially among the Nigerian youths connoting migrating (abroad) for greener pastures, perceived or real. It is logical migrating to an area of choice comparative advantage. The japa guys should imbibe Alajapa philosophy of go abroad and return back with gains.It should be properly planned and beneficial.
Since antiquity man remains on the move for diverse reasons and technology has continuously ease movement across divides making the globe a real village. Technology has necessarily enhanced Japa syndrome.
