Abstract

Research is a cornerstone of progress and advancement, driving innovation and paving the way for new discoveries and technologies. The conduct of research in humans is guided by some ethical standard or guidelines which cut across all the stages of the research process spanning from the conception of the research to the dissemination of the findings. With the increase in research activities and the international collaborations experienced in Nigeria, it is crucial to know and conduct research activities in an ethical manner. The aim of this article is to provide an overview of ethical issues/considerations in biomedical research and guide our upcoming researchers in submitting ethical proposals to their local ethical review committees for their research studies. Some misconduct in conducting research will also be highlighted. This will lead to increased research integrity and better conduct of research activities among our researchers.
